Great American Craft Beer Showcase at KIBEX 2023 (April 6-8, 2023)
ATO Seoul in a partnership with the Brewers Association (BA) organized the 'Great American Craft Beer Showcase' at the Korea International Beer Expo (KIBEX) on April 6-8, 2023. A total of 36 breweries participated in the activity, showcasing the quality, value, and diversity that the U.S. craft beer industry has to offer. Eleven of them were breweries who were looking for Korean import distribution partners. Four of the new breweries traveled to the project with the BA EDP. ATO Seoul represented the remaining seven breweries at the show, meeting with potential Korean importers and pouring samples to consumer visitors on their behalf. Nine Korean import distribution partners joined the project and exhibited for the 25 breweries that they represent. According to the outcome survey, four import distributors who participated at the Showcase reported a total of $13,350 on-site sales and three forecasted $35,000 of sales growth within 12 months. Over 3,000 beer consumers visited the Great American Craft Beer Showcase booth during the three-day show period and tasted a wide diversity of American craft beer, and each import distributor responded that it met 2,200 beer consumer visitors on average during the show.
Organic Buyers Trade Delegation to the Natural Products Expo West 2023 (Anaheim, California - March 2023)
ATO Seoul recruited a delegation of 17 Korean buyers from 10 import distributors for processed organic products to attend the Natural Products Expo West 2023 (NPEW) held in Anaheim, CA. NPEW is the leading trade show in the natural, organic, and healthy products industry. Delegation members developed contacts with more than 250 U.S. suppliers. Products of interest included organic juice, dried nuts, dried fruits, beverages, snacks, cereal, and plant-based products. In addition, ATO Seoul arranged field trips to retail markets to enhance delegation¡¯s understanding on U.S. brands, food trends, and products. According to the post activity survey, six companies estimated a sales of $5.83 million within the next 12 months.
Korean Specialty Food Trade Mission to Winter Fancy Food Show 2023 Leads to $3 million in Potential Export Sales
ATO Seoul brought eight Korean food importers from seven companies to the Specialty Food Association¡¯s 47th Winter Fancy Food Show held in Las Vegas, Nevada, January 15-17, 2023. This trade mission introduced the Korean importers to American specialty food products and suppliers. Attendees discovered the future of food with the newest specialty food and beverages in a variety of product categories on the show floor and toured several retail markets in the neighborhood. The trade mission resulted in dozens of serious contacts made through the meetings and an estimated $2.97 million in potential purchases from U.S. food suppliers over the next 12 months. Korea imported $10.7 billion of U.S. food products in 2022 and ranked the fifth largest food export market for the United States. In 2022 the category of U.S. agricultural exports to Korea with the highest value was U.S. consumer-ready foods including beef, wine, dairy, and processed foods.
