http://news.chosun.com/site/data/html_dir/2013/03/28/2013032800068.html

Summary: Korea Racing Authority (KRA)¡¯s first thoroughbred auction of the year in Jeju island on March 26 generated a record high bid price ever made in the auction.  A two year old yearling stallion, born between a stud stallion and a mare both of U.S. blood line, was sold at 290 million won ($260,000) to a member of Seoul Racehorse Owners Association.  Price of horses sold through the Jeju auction has shown a sharp increase as the auction has emerged as the leading market to purchase quality thoroughbreds in Korea.  For example, average price of horses sold through the auction this March was 50 million won ($45,000) whereas average price recorded in previous 8 auctions was 40 million won ($36,000).
