E Mart Imports Sunkist Oranges Directly [Korean, OSY]

Summary: E Mart has started to sell fresh American oranges that it imported directly from Sunkist farms on March 1, 2013. Through the direct purchase, E mart was able to offer fresh oranges at 30 percent lower price. E Mart plans to expand direct importation of fresh fruits.

2. NORTH KOREA ISSUES

25% of Apples Produced in North Korea are from Nursery Plants Donated by LDS Church America [Korean, OSY]

Summary: It is reported that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) has donated 300,00 apple nursery plants to North Korea over the last 9 years. These trees are reportedly accounting 25 percent of North Korea’s total apple harvest. A person in charge of LDS for Northern Asia commented that LDS has no donation plan for this year due to recent confrontations between North and South Korea.
