California Walnut Commission Hosts Best New Product Contest November 9, 2009

California Walnut Commission (CWC) hosted an annual “Best New Product Contest” for 2009 to recognize local food companies’ strong effort to increase the sales of products that contain California walnut. Over 40 products entered the competition and were evaluated by a panel of market experts. Winning and note worthy products included: Tofu Walnut Salad, Cheestick, Gelato Brownies and WalnutCcino.

Food Export Association of the Midwest USA Brings Specialty Food Trade Delegation to Seoul October 22, 2009

Food Export Association of the Midwest USA brought a group of specialty food suppliers to Seoul for a seminar and a table-top trade show. The seminar, led by Ron Tanner, VP of the National Association of Specialty Food Trade (NASFT), informed more than 100 local food traders about the latest specialty food product trends in the United States. The table-top showcase followed the seminar generated contacts and trade leads between the suppliers and key local food traders.
