Summary: The Ministry of Land & Ocean reported on June 25 that a 2.3 million sq. meter space in Iksan-si, Junbook province will be developed as a national food industry cluster zone by 2016.  The Ministry explained that the zone will accommodate both local and international food manufacturers and R&D institutes.

 

¡®Zero¡¯ Applied Tariff to be Extended on Imported Pork Belly Meat and Table Sugar [Korean, OSY]

Summary: Among the 63 imported products that were subject to temporary, lower import tariffs during the first half of this year, 44 products, including pork belly meat, dried pepper, table sugar, raw sugar, wheat for milling, corn for food processing, frozen mackerel, and cheese will continue to be subject to the lower tariffs until the end of this year, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance on June 26.  The zero duty on pork belly meat has 50,000 metric tons ceiling.
