Pork Meat Price Returns to Normal Level [Korean, OSY]

Summary: According to a price survey by Livestock Product Quality Assurance Institute, price of pork meat in local wholesale markets marked 4,990 won per kilogram, down 24 percent from one month earlier.  Price of pork meat in retail stores are showing a similar trend.  The institute has forecasted that the price of pork meat will remain weak throughout the rest of the year as the supply to the market is on a solid increase from both local farms and imports.

2 Billion Won of Fine Charged to 11 Coffee Businesses for Faking Country of Origin of Coffee Beans [Korean, OSY]

Summary: Korea Customs Office has charged a total 2.1 billion won of fine to 11 coffee businesses, including Starbucks Korea, Coffeebean Korea, Nestle, and Dongsuh.  According to the customs office, these companies have allegedly labeled some of their coffee products brewed/made from beans from cheaper destinations such as Vietnam as American or Italian origin.  Customs office said it would pay additional attention to the traffic of imported coffee beans.
