Summary:CJ Foodville, a leading foodservice company in Korea announced that its 'JuiceSolution' division has opened the fifth store in Seoul on November 22. 'Juice Solution' is a premium juice shop that the company launched in Marchearlier this year. Products offered in Juice Solution shop are all 100percent "fresh squeeze" juices using fresh fruits and vegetableswithout any additives. These juices have a very short, 72 hour shelf lifeto highlight fresh quality. The stores are mainly targeting areas thathave high traffic of young women and office workers in 20's and 30's. CJFoodville forecasts that the premium juice market in Korea should see 30percent of annual growth in the coming years due to the consumers' strongattention to healthy diet.

Summary:Representatives of Korea and Chile government met during APEC meetings in Lima, Peruon November 18 and started bilateral negotiationsto revise the Korea-Chile Free Trade Agreement (FTA) which went into force 12years ago in 2004. Since the FTA, the trade between the two countriesgrew 4 times. However, both countries now want to bring some revisions tothe agreement reflecting the new trade environment both countries are under nowpartly due to introduction of additional free trade agreements with othercountries over the years. In particular, Korea wants additional openingof Chilean market for electronics such as refrigerators and laundrymachine. On the other hand, Chile wants additional opening of Koreanmarket for agricultural products such as vegetables, fruits, grains and meat. The Korean government has commented that it will try to minimize negativeimpact on local agriculture during the negotiation.

The decline was mainly due to the impact of a typhoon that hitKorea right before the harvest season. The harvest volume is expected to be 300,000 metrictons larger than the market demand.
