KREI to Publish Monthly International Grain Market Report from July [Korean, OSY]

Summary: Korea Rural Economic Institute (KREI) announced on June 27 that it will start to publish monthly international grain market report from July. KREI said the report will focus on forecasting international price of wheat, corn, and soybean at the beginning. But the report will be expanded to other commodities later, KREI added. KREI will share the report with local farmers and processors.

Inchon to Become the Second Largest City by 2040, National Statistics Office [Korean, OSY]

Summary: According to a report by National Statistics Office (NSO) released on June 27, Inchon is forecast to become the second largest city in Korea with 3.03 million population by 2040, surpassing the current number two city, Busan. Population of Busan is forecast to decline by 450,000 to 3.01 million over the next 30 years. Seoul, the number one city in Korea, is also forecast to loose 130,000 population down to 9.92 million by 2040.
